WanderLuxxe at Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It Premiere
We just got back from a whirlwind few days in NYC where we produced the Spike Lee She’s Gotta Have It premiere party. We had an amazing time that was nothing short of non-stop daily action. Here’s a peek behind the scenes of WanderLuxxe on the ground in NYC:
Friday Nov. 10:
We took the redeye from LA into NYC. As soon as we landed we headed to Soho House to freshen up and then had several partner meetings as we prep for Sundance. (Have you bought a Sundance package yet? We hope to see you there!)
9am: We then checked out a few venues, as the Tribeca Film Festival will be here before you know it and we like to stay ahead with our preparation.
12pm: Next we settled for a quick lunch at one of our favorites, Serafina, in Tribeca.
3pm: Finally we headed to BAM in Brooklyn, the site of the premiere party, to meet with location security, Spike Lee’s security, venue staff and caterer for a full production walk through.
Saturday Nov. 11:
8am: We arrived at BAM for a tech check of the film with the Netflix post production team.
2pm: Red carpet started installation.
5:30pm: All working staff arrived from each team.
6pm: Press check-in.
7pm: Guests arrived excited and ready as they picked up their tickets.
7:30pm: Spike Lee and his lovely wife Tonya arrived!
8pm: Spike opened the night and welcomed guests.
9:45pm: Guests entered the dope party space and enjoyed specialty martinis with DJ Spinna spinning away on the turn tables.
Spike then got on the mic and shouted out HBCUs (fun fact, both WanderLuxxe founders attended HBCU’s!) and got the crowd hype for the She’s Gotta Have It theme song, Raspberry Beret by Prince.
1am: It’s a wrap! Load out time!
We had a magical few days in NYC and would like to thank everyone that was involved in making the premiere party a success. We would love to see you at our next exclusive party, so be sure to become a WanderLuxxe member today!
