WanderLuxxe: A Day in the Life
As entrepreneurs, our days are never the same. Unlike a traditional 9-5, one day vastly differs from the next, forever keeping us on our toes. It’s exciting, thrilling, and we wouldn’t trade it for the world. We are constantly asked what we do during the days and what happens in our “offices”. In this blog we decided to shed some light on a day in our lives at WanderLuxxe.
I live in LA but work on East Coast time, so I’m up by 5:30am checking emails. I take a break around 8am to go work out, which is super important to me. As someone living with Multiple Sclerosis health and fitness is vital to my wellness plan. After the gym I typically head to Soho House in West Hollywood where I meet with potential brand partners and talent. I spend the day there, having meetings, catching up on emails, talking to vendors, and planning logistics. I’m always brainstorming on ways to enhance experiences for our WanderLuxxe members as well as thinking of new experiences and adventures they can enjoy. The day typically ends at 7pm when I leave to meet with friends for dinner, or go home and enjoy a new book or a favorite reality show to escape the chaos of the day.
I have two children so I’m up super early by default. Juggling WanderLuxxe and two kids, I use the morning to confirm my schedule between WanderLuxxe, babysitters, and daycare. I start the day reading and catching up on emails and then I check in with Marti about our goals for the day. Typically we have very tight deadlines and have a quick turnaround for the many projects we are working on so we use the morning to set intention for the day and to make sure we are on the same page. We don’t have a traditional work space so throughout the day we have scheduled FaceTime conferences and phone calls with our team members, as well as in person meetings at Soho House. As the end of the day approaches, Marti and I always have a recap, via FaceTime or in person, to go over what we are working on and what we still have on our plate to accomplish to ensure that we stay on track. My end of the day involves family time, where I make sure to have dinner with my kids and read bedtime stories.
As you see, no two days are ever really the same. Some days are heavy with vendor meetings, some days are filled with sending dozens of emails. During festival and awards seasons we have site visits and could be traveling all around Los Angeles, New York, Salt Lake City, and other amazing cities we host events in. This life is unpredictable, but everything we asked for!
Thanks for joining us on our unique ride here at WanderLuxxe!
